- Condition: Dryer Master has detected the outlet moisture sensor indicates the outgoing grain has reached a high or low temperature level beyond the “warning” status.
- Alarm Action Taken: WARNING ONLY
- Component: Dryer Master Moisture Sensor.
- Location: Normally mounted in the Dryer Master sampler box located somewhere either directly under the dryer or in the discharge grain stream prior to going to the storage bin, usually between the outlet of the reclaim conveyor and the inlet to the dry grain leg.
Tech tip: (Value is set in the “Dryer Master Alarm Settings” screen)
This alarm indicates a “critical” temperature condition of the outgoing grain from the dryer. If this alarm appears, proceed to the “Dryer Master Alarm Settings” screen to determine if the condition is critical high or critical low based on the current reading and the alarm values that have been set.
(After acknowledging the alarm, this alarm can be temporarily silenced by changing the critical temperature high or critical temperature low setting to take the dryer out of the alarm condition. This will provide time to investigate the cause of the alarm.)
Tools Required for Service:
- Phillips screwdriver (to remove cover)
- ½” wrench (to remove sensor from dryer)
- Channel Lock (to loosen sealtite fitting)
- Wire cutters/strippers (if replacing sensor)
Potential Causes of this Alarm Condition:
- Over drying the grain causing extra kernel temperature
- Improper air adjustment for cooling chamber to provide adequate suction to cool grain
- Critical High Alarm setpoint too low
- Critical Low Alarm setpoint too high
