- Condition: The dryer has detected the soft start unit for the #4 fan motor has gone into fault.
- Alarm Action Taken: SHUT DOWN
- Component: Soft Start
- Location: Inside High voltage cabinet at base of dryer.
Tools Required for Service:
- Voltage/continuity meter
Tech tip: (Normally there is a decal above the soft start unit identifying which unit is #1, #2 and so on.)
This alarm occurs when the soft start has gone into fault for any reason.
Telemechanique Units:
Check the code on the digital display of the unit to determine the cause of the fault.
If the cause of the fault has cleared, the fault can be cleared by cycling power (turn off the supply breaker) to the unit and waiting for the display of the drive to go blank. Turn power back on and check to make sure any fault has cleared.
Allen Bradley Units:
Check the code of the blinking light on the face of the unit to determine the cause of the fault.
If the cause of the fault has cleared, the fault can be cleared by pressing the “RESET” button on the face of the soft start unit.
